You glance around the piles of goods. Renko has dug out a pair of indian-looking leather shirts, while Mary is trying on an out of season winter coat. Speaking of coats, you notice now how much warmer it is in here compared to outside, despite the lack of apparent stove or fireplace. Is there some kind of heater in here?
Reluctantly, you browse the items near the surface, happening across several of interest: A solid-feeling wooden sword, and a handful of what appear to be cherry bombs, and are at the very least explosive.
The shop owner watches the three of you tentatively. He clears his throat to catch your attention.
"I presume, of course, that you have enough money?" The girls have ceased their chatter, and glance at each other, then to you. "I am willing, of course, to accept an exchange of goods, as well. I do specialize in other worldly items."
You give the two a reassuring nod, and turn to the man again.
"I'm sure we can come to some kind of arrangement."

You count out the change, and put it back into your pocket.
"Now, if you've got somewhere we can change, we'll leave you our old clothes and be on our way."
"Yes, yes, I'd be happy to. You can use the room in the back if you'd like. You are, after all, customers." He says the last world with no small deal of relish.

You exit the store, return the owner's waves as you venture back in to the ice-crusted underbrush. Mary pulls her cellphone out of her pocket and flips it open.
"Ah... it's getting pretty late."
You peer over her shoulder at the screen, ignoring Renko's tip-toed attempts to do the same.
6:35 "Wow, it is..." A glance at the sky confirms it, with the sun hovering precariously close to the horizon. "We should head back, I think. It's a long walk."
"Ugh, don't remind me..." Renko wavers exaggeratedly, pressing the back of her hand against her forehead.
"You're the one that wasted all that energy running off."
"Well, I'm sorry for being proactive!"
"Recklessly charging into unknown, dangerous, territory isn't proactive, it's just reckless."
"You're repeating yourself!"
"It was reckless enough it needed to be said twice."
---
And like that, before you had realized it, the frost faded, and the overgrown trees you first saw in this strange world returned.
"We're here." Mary reaches up gingerly, placing her hands on the invisible door, and pushes. Again, the air seems to crackle and distort around the edges, before finally tearing through like a damp paper. A cold, air-conditioned breeze begins to flow through opening, carrying with it all the smells of the city's heart.
You look around the woods again, at the trees, the long, undisturbed grass, the strange, small flowers poking their heads through the dirt.
"C'mon!" Once again, Renko tugs at your arm, pulling you across the boundary, back into the coffee shop. You hear Mary let the door close behind you.
"Here, put your stuff in one of these." You snap out of your trance when she hands you a shopping bag. "We'll look pretty out of place as we are, right? If we put our stuff in these bags, we can just say we went to an antique shop or something."
Oh.
"That's... surprisingly sensible."
"Of course!" Having already stuffed her things into a bag of her own, Renko puts her hand on Mary's shoulder. "We're prepared for anything!"
You laugh, then, quietly, as you begin to move your own things into the bad you were provided. Certainly, these two are no end of liveliness...
---
"Come back soon!" The woman at the counter calls after you as you walk back out in to the early evening sun.
"So, I'll see you two back here tomorrow afternoon." They both nodded, and we departed to our homes.
Well... It seems I'll have something to look forward to, now.
DAY 1 - END
-----
So, a really long update. No more choices tonight, I'll probably have one up sometime tomorrow morning though.
