>>22584 >>22585 This is all very very awesome. Keep plugging at it, you're almost there.
Apologies for the lapse in quality for this update, there was no way in hell I was about to miss a Halloween update.

You hold your free hand up to Alice.
“"Alice, there's nothing we can get from her that we wouldn't otherwise be able to get from Eirin.” You don't break eye contact with Yorihime but Alice's murmured reply is a positive indication she has understood you. “The same goes for you too, Meiling, If Eirin is holding Sakuya hostage-”
“Which she isn't” Yorihime cuts in. “I hold Sakuya and I do not answer to Eirin. She answers to ME.”
“Yes, that is what she would want you to think,” Alice speaks up. “You know Eirin more than I do, you know you can never control her. She left you before and she'll do it again, please do not be as naïve as to think otherwise” Yorihime slowly begins to simmer over in anger, her weapon quivering under her strained grip.
“The Genius of the Moon certainly isn't going to put any of her cards in hand of a lesser mind. This one is only a diversion.” You smirk and play your final stab at her, placing the reactor betwixt your armoured fingers, you slowly force it up, supported by your other arm. Yorihime's sour expression switches instantly to a look of hellish delight.
“You're going to use
that on me?” She scoffs and laughs, flicking her blade up she holds it diagonally across her body and braces herself. “All units hold fire, I shall eliminate these beasts in one fell swoop”
Wires land about your arm and quickly snap it into alignment; facing Yorihime dead on.
“You, Moon-bitch. I have a little something for you. A going-away present, prepared by the last of the Scarlet hold-outs, in cooperation with Eirin's
real apprentice.”
“More Scarlet witchcraft?” Yorihime chortles. “I'll make you swallow your own hell fire, warlock” She spits.
“Just first... could you answer me a question? What day of the week is today?” As expected, this catches her off guard a little, the slither of shock that skulked past her twists into another large grin.
“Friday. End of the working week.” She sarcastically replies.
“Fool's Gold 「Illusion of Prosperity」” You mutter quietly to yourself. Cautiously Yorihime leans backwards and digs her heels into the ground, golden light flows from the chinks in the armour and from each member a link strikes into the reactor. The air around the end of the reactor ripples and warps, distorting reality itself and then abruptly this metaphysical bubble bursts outwards towards Yorihime.
Her body is jolted once and she freezes up, her weapon completely locked in place. A few seconds pass before you notice her blink and look intently about the room. Ever so slowly she lowers her weapon, her gaze now returning to you. Before her creeping smile can spread the object falls from the ceiling; landing atop her head and bouncing off onto the ground. Everyone looks down to it, a dull iron bolt it looks to be, the kind you've seen in some of the larger buildings in the village. Swiftly snatching it up from the ground she strikes her arm out; pointing her blade at you.
“You dare seek to bribe a general!?” She barks at you. Your allies look to you in slight confusion, they must not of heard you. “I'm going to cut you down where you ...” She snarls, only to drift off, as if something has taken a hold of her attention.
You feel the building shudder in close proximity, a few small clouds of dust drop from the roof as bits of plaster drop in. Yorihime snatches a handful of the stuff from the ground and stares at it intently. “Where are you getting this from?” She snaps back to you, her face straight and deathly serious. You elect to say nothing, to let the spell take its hold of her. More clumps of the roof fall in, this time a small bar drops down beside her with a clatter, she gasps not of shock but awe. Abandoning her weapon entirely she drives her hands into the small pile of rubble clutching two fistfuls of it, staring with child-like wonder into them.
You feel a faint touch on your arm as one of Alice's strings wraps itself around it. Turning to face her you find your group several feet away from you, still edging towards the elevator, they gesture to the metal men who are still aiming at you but not firing. Must they still be following Yorihime's last order? Turning back you meet eyes with Yorihime. She is lost, utterly entranced in this imaginary gold, her eyes glazed over. Holding her hands up to the roof she begins to laugh as more parts start to drop in. Your party finally makes their move when the very ground begins to split open, the desk slumping down into a small pit. Reaching the elevator in seconds Aya slams her hand repeatedly into the console, apparently to the top level of the building.
“What the fuck did you do!?” Aya practically shouts at you, her voice tenuously quietened. Staring back into the room as the interior elevator doors close you see Yorihime staggering about the centre of the room laughing loudly, her arms still outstretched to the debris falling in all around her. Even as the elevator begins to ascend you can still hear her laughter, growing in fact, even as the metal ceiling collapses in all around her. Her laughter echoes up the building and through the small air ducts you see in the elevator, clashing fiercely against the ever growing roar of the building falling to pieces.
The elevator jolts and groans, the building itself cries out in pain, you feel its monstrous body shake and a huge gout of smoke bursts out from below you. Abruptly the rumbling ceases and is replaced with a roar of destruction as a massive section of the building falls out below you, collapsing and falling away in a neat curve leaving a dent in the side of the building. You can make out little below amidst the smoke other than large silhouetted objects dropping away from the building.
Alice clears her throat and adjusts her mantle a little.
“Well, I think that went quite well” She smugly concurs.
“Yes. Yes it did” You smile quite contently and the group exchanges some thumbs up and relieved laughter. Aya, ironically, is the only one who rolls her eyes; still recovering, apparently, from hyperventilation. Although with the speed she speaks and acts you'd expect her normal breathing to border on hyperventilation anyway.
“So where are we heading to?” Meiling asks, looking over to the console Aya is standing beside still.
“I dunno I just mashed the top button. It's only one above the operations deck anyway” The icon is the same except inside the octagon is a single Lunarian rune. Your team takes time out to relax, the glass has been largely cleared away from the floor so you, Aya, Koakuma and Wriggle sit down whilst Meiling and Alice stand beside the door in a vigil.
