A young knight, born the wrong age
laws of men in zero and ones
Learnt to God's love and women honour
To knightlyhood and teaching
Of the art no longer matters
Of spear and sword and Messer
Of swash and buckler and boss
Of Rondell and Bollock and Hilt
Their arts you have seized
Upon your master's grave
Under the heaven's watch
You sharpened your wit and blade
All the breadth and length of the art
Long lost their purpose
To the fire and thunder of men
In time unexpected, half a man!
Half a man from the east!
Brought by the wind, the half man seeks to know
Of all the secrets there are
Inside the blades of the world
The blade of the north was found, and it was taken
The blade of the south was found, and it was taken
The half man from the east now seek the blade of the west
But the blade of the west was broken
Reforged in you
His blood, your hand
His skill, your fingers
His speed, your arms
His wit, your mind
His art, your soul
The half man from the east draws his blade
Forged long time ago by creature inhumane
A creature of wind, fire and hammer
A blade fit for slashes and chops
But not for thrusts
A challenge was issued, a challenge of first blood
And the young knight
Born the wrong age
Accept the rare chance
To red his shiny blade

The land of Albion, the land of knights
A sword from the age of kings
Three strands of iron, clothed in steel
Patterned metal be your mark, and a cross be your herald
Whether alone, or shielded by a loyal friend

A false image of horned helmet
Guard and pommel of same length
A skilled name between two crosses
Copied by many, looking for wealth
Whether alone, or shielded by a loyal friend

A common people struggle
To find their place in the world
Whether to defend honour or purse
A friend in the street, the swash and buckler
A young men's toy of the age of old

Paid army of foreign knights
Monstrous length of two crosses
Friend to colourful men to their early graves
A mighty weapon from the land that fought the world
And got it ass kicked

Wooden ships and iron men
A sword and cannons in accord
Conquer the world for an unseen lord
Acquiring the wealth of the jolly rogers
The scream of Santiago

Will the whole story be told like this? Could be interesting.

"Cross be your herald" reminds me of Raziel.

The faraway Damascus held the knowledge
To twist the iron and fate
From the desert to the plain
Many seek the way of the blade
To learn of steel no longer made
The knowledge, twisted in fate
Found its way to the court of king
Skilled in both state and blade
One of the courts, the chosen anvil
Offered his trade, the ultimate edge
Young knight, a blade in cradle
Anvil worked, womb of smoke and fire
Fear him, o the conquered, those who fell in battle
With his hammer, he denied you haven
Your ashes, his blade, and nothing more
Your grief and misdeeds, a woe to his steel
A toast of wine, tainted glass purified slags and sins
Lost souls, seek purgatory in his furnace bellows
And found salvation under his hammer blows
Baptized in oil and flame, as His name allows
With sword and mind in tune
The king held a mighty rule
Until one night, middle of June
The king lost his dearest
Then left the kingdom heirless
The sword wandered, from claimers to usurpers
Those of greed, envy, lust, pride and desires
Sword all seek to held, symbol of a kingdom dearest
Unworthy vultures, the sword found them
Uncivilised beggars in the guise of lord
Time passed, and the sword once sought lie forgotten
The kingdom, once prospered, corrupted and failed
Under beggars in the guise of lord, the people suffered
Until one day, a true man of the king found his fate
And the sword, once forgotten, shone proudly in rebellion
The sword, name obscured, yet envy of Avalon
Now stand in your hands, ready to serve alone
Against him, the forged steel dragon of yore
More quick and dangerous than any foe
The sword awaited, silently asking
What is thine command, M?lord?

Young knight, take haste
The first strike is the strike to win
Quick edge, handheld Velociraptor
Hold your friend close, foe closer, and a blade even closer
Half a man against half a sword
[ ]
Young knight, take caution
He who strikes first is the first to die
Learn of your foe and prepare your trap
Learn of the sword, strong to weak and weak to strong
And pin the dragon to your cross!

half-swording will give us a leverage advantage, and make it easier to parry his blows. step inside his range and press agianst his guard. and besides, life is not like assasins creed, victory goes to the one who seizes the initiative and controls the flow of battle.

Going with this one, though the phrase "handheld Velociraptor" alone almost demands my vote.

In combat, hesitation will only lead to sound defeat. Though we strike first, we must bear in mind that we are not mindless children swinging our first blade, however.
Feel out a weakness. Find or make an opening. Never let up.
